About the Specialist
My name is KatieBurdick. I am practically a Colorado native, but to real natives I am still not even close! I was
born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania but raised in Colorado since the ripe young age of 2 years old. I’m also a little bit
of a Colorado-hypocrite. I’m not a big snow boarder/ skier, and I don’t enjoy hiking all that much. My true passion is running- any place, anywhere, any time. It’s my passion for running that led me to find Muscle Activation
Techniques TM in fact.

When I was in high school my running addiction really took off, however, I knew little about training and
conditioning and even less about how to listen to my body. Consequently, I kept running when I should have
stopped and ended up with a case of shin splints that I couldn’t shake. After about 7 months of trial and error,
I heard about MATTM from a family friend. After a month of MATTM treatment my shin splints were gone and taken care of and I’ve been a believer ever since.

My fascination for kinesiology and anatomy stemmed from that experience and MATTM became a fascination that I always wanted to explore. I carried that fascination with me to college and decided to study Exercise Science and Adult Fitness at Metropolitan State University of Denver. While in my final year of college, I decided it was time to learn about the technique that helped me so much and enrolled in the Muscle Activation TechniquesTM Specialist Program in Englewood, Colorado. I graduated college and got certified as an MAT Specialist in August of 2017.

Since then, I have opened Made to Move as my own practice in MATTM and continue to grow in the never-ending education that is human anatomy. I have had experience both growing my own business full time as well as working in other recovery and training facilities along the way. I have worked in chiropractic clinics as well as a former practitioner at Panorama Wellness and Sports Institute in Highlands Ranch for over three and a half years. Now, I am a MAT RX Full Body Specialist and am focusing all my efforts into growing my own practice full time at Colorado Fitness Head Quarters in Centennial.

It’s my goal to help people who are in the same situation as I was- in pain with no way to be rid of it- as well as educate those people in order to eliminate future injuries. MATTM is a fantastic tool that has changed so many people’s lives and I am excited to share this technique with so many people to help them overcome their physical obstacles and achieve their fitness and health goals.
